National Defence Minister Mihai Fifor paid a visit on Tuesday, alongside Chief of the General Staff General Nicolae Ciuca to the “Cantacuzino” National Research Institute.
According to a release of the National Defence Ministry (MApN), this is the first visit of Minister Fifor to the “Cantacuzino” Institute, after the Government approved last week for the Institute to pass over to the MApN.
“The MApN team discussed in detail with the management team of the institute about the steps that are to be taken so that the takeover procedure be carried out as soon as possible,” the quoted source mentions.
During the meeting, the National Defence Minister brought in discussion the short and medium-term action plan, so that all demarches be fulfilled within the deadlines, which have already been assumed, reads the release.
Moreover, also tackled were possibilities to revitalise and modernise the institute activities and create a unitary research and national production platform, so that the institute become again an important producer of vaccines and other biological products for human use, with a strategic role in providing medical products in this area, mainly through national capabilities, the MApN release informs.
The handover-receiving protocol is to be concluded within 90 days since the ordinance approved by the Executive will come into force and it will be approved by the Healthcare Ministry and the National Defence Ministry, the MApN release mentions.
