National Defence Minister Mihai Fifor paid an official visit to the Republic of Serbia on Sunday and Monday, accompanied by the head of the General Staff, General Nicolae Ciuca.
According to a National Defence Ministry (MApN) release, the bilateral discussions held with his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vulin contributed to the development of the political-military dialogue and focused on topics such as the security situation in the Western Balkans, the development of the cooperation relations in mutual interest areas, including in the area of military education and military medicine, as well as the collaboration within the regional initiatives.
On this occasion, an agreement was signed between the Governments of the two countries on cooperation in the defence area, a document that will ensure the grounds of an intensified military collaboration, the source points out.
The two officials have voiced conviction that the approaches signalled during the talks will contribute to the development of the practical cooperation between the two states’ armies.
