Defence Minister Mihai Fifor on Wednesday attended the 99th anniversary of the first judiciary body of the Romanian Army.
“The uniformed jurists have watched over the development and correct application of the internal legal norms and regulations without which the Army cannot function. I want to congratulate the entire professional body working in the military justice for the way in which it provides the military with a framework to act as a right, honest and transparent partner of the Romanian civil society. Thank you, dear fellow jurists and military magistrates, for all the activity, the dedication and the professionalism with which you are carrying out your duties to enhance the prestige of military justice and the Romanian Army! ” Fifor wrote in a Facebook post.
Also on Wednesday, Fifor attended the 100th anniversary of the Military Counter-Intelligence and Security Directorate (DCISM).
“Recognised both in the national and external intelligence communities as an elite organisation, DCISM acts as a modern, flexible, efficient body able to manage the risks and threats to the military body and to ensure, in an operative and timely manner the intelligence needed to substantiate the decisions of military and political leaders,” Fifor added in his post.
He shows that DCSIM specialists are operating according to interoperable procedures with those of similar structures in the NATO armies, which have been confirmed by very good results in the missions performed in theatres of war.
“The military counterintelligence shoulders the essential mission of protecting the country and the Romanian Army. Allow me to wish to all the professionals of this important organisation many years ahead with power and devotion, and with achievements to live up to its centuries-old traditions.”
