Romania’s expertise could be useful in the process of transforming the Moldovan army into a modern, mobile and well-equipped institution, Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatii said in a joint conference with his Romanian counterpart Vasile Dincu on Wednesday.
“We discussed the ways in which Romania could disseminate the valuable experience it has in implementing international initiatives and projects to reform the Defence sector, according to the principles of good democratic governance. The expertise of our Romanian colleagues could be useful in the process of transformation of the national army into a modern, mobile and well-equipped institution, capable of fulfilling its constitutional missions,” he stated.
Nosatii also underscored that Romania’s support is appreciated in the context in which the Republic of Moldova “faces during this period a multitude of problems that have a negative impact on regional stability.”
In his turn, Vasile Dincu stated that “Romania strongly expresses its readiness and interest to develop cooperation with the national army of the Republic of Moldova for mutual benefit and to support its efforts.”
“It is our moral duty to support Moldova in its integration into the European Union. The security situation in Ukraine caused by the unjustified and brutal invasion by the Russian Federation worries us, because it brings crises. In addition to extremely serious military and security issues at this moment, this cruel war has produced a humanitarian catastrophe, an energy crisis, to which are added other premises of a humanitarian crisis, for example, which can be global”, said the Romanian minister of defence, according to Agerpres.
