Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu (photo R) on Monday had a meeting with National Defence Minister Gabriel Les to discuss the Romanian Army priority programmes.
“Today I have been at the National Defence Ministry (…) for a short meeting with Minister Gabriel Les, to discuss the most important points on the ministry’s agenda and the Romanian Army priority programmes. There has been a constructive discussion and I wished him success in fulfilling the assumed commitments,” PM Grindeanu announced in a message posted on Facebook.
Moreover, according to a release sent to AGERPRES, the Prime Minister reiterated to the Defence Minister the priority on ensuring a 2 percent of the GDP budget for the Army.
“I have reiterated the Government’s priority of ensuring, in the budget for 2017, 2 percent of the GDP for the Army, according to the commitments assumed by Romania,” Grindeanu is quoted in the release as saying.
At the same time, the PM thanked the servicemen for the support provided to the population during these freezing cold days.
